Curriculum

The Watson Chapel School District's (WCSD) mission is to provide a challenging curriculum that graduates every student prepared for higher learning and careers that will empower them to become productive citizens in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.

Curriculum & Instruction Department helps to ensure that the Watson Chapel School District provides all students with rigorous, joyful, and culturally responsive learning to meet all student academic needs.  WCSD believes optimal student achievement can be attained by utilizing a proactive Professional Learning Communities (PLC) collaborative systems approach for continuous teacher learning to provide a safe and effective learning environment for children.

To do this, the office provides leadership in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional learning with direct supervision of the following academic departments:  Educational Technology; English Language Arts; English Language Learners; History & Social Science; Library Media; Mathematics; Physical Education, Health & Wellness; Science; Visual & Performing Arts; and World Language.
