The Secondary Department of Curriculum & Instruction helps to ensure that the Watson Chapel School District provides all students with rigorous, joyful, and culturally responsive learning and the academic supports each student needs to achieve their goals. We believe optimal student achievement can be attained by utilizing a proactive systems approach for creating and maintaining a safe and effective learning environment.
To do this, the office provides leadership in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional learning with direct supervision of the following academic departments: Educational Technology; English Language Arts; English Language Learners; History & Social Science; Library Media; Mathematics; Physical Education, Health & Wellness; Science; Visual & Performing Arts; and World Language.
The team of the 7-12 curriculum supervisor, in collaboration with principals, instructional facilitators, and educators, lead the district's curriculum development in alignment with the Arkansas Curriculum Frameworks.
