Watson Chapel School District is actively monitoring weather forecasts, with winter conditions anticipated Tuesday and Wednesday. No decision has been made yet but in the event of a closure or early release, notifications will be sent promptly through texts, district website and social media, and local news stations. Dr. McGee represented Watson Chapel at the Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce's luncheon on February 5. He shared our mission and vision for the future of our district and community and encouraged more local business leaders to engage and volunteer within our school. "Students can't be what they can't see"



The first event of our "Wildcats are WILD About Reading" initiative kicked off today with Craig O'Neill as our special guest reader! Staff were treated to breakfast sponsored by Baldwin & Shell and a special appearance by Mayor Vivian Flowers, who shared words of encouragement to students. A big "thank you" to all community and Chamber of Commerce members and Baldwin & Shell staff who took time to stop by to tell our students about the importance of reading!🖤💛

As part of our Wildcats Are WILD About Reading! district-wide reading initiative, we are excited to announce our first gues reader, Mr. Craig O'Neill! He will be visiting Edgewood Elementary on February 3 to read to our students!

WC JROTC participated in the Malvern Drill Meet on Saturday, January 18, 2025 and won several awards!
2nd place in Unarmed, 1st place in Armed, 1st place Female, 5th place Male, 4th place CoEd, 1st place in 4 Man Push Up, and Overall Champion for the team. Way to go!!

School will be dismissed on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. School will resume Tuesday, January 21.

We are excited to announce our district-wide reading initiative, Wildcats Are WILD About Reading! Our goals include increasing daily reading for all K-12 students as well as WCSD staff and building a culture of reading for all stakeholders. We will accomplish these goals through community partnerships, volunteer readers, etc. More detailed information is forthcoming so be on the lookout to sign up to read to students at Edgewood Elementary!


High School's turn!! Starting tomorrow (January 15th) Watson Chapel High School Cafeteria will start offering Hot Chocolate with breakfast on Wednesdays. This is only available in the cafeteria and will be included with breakfast at no charge. If it goes well, we may extend for other days too.


Watson Chapel School District will hold a board meeting Monday January 13, 2025 at 6:00 pm, located 4100 Camden Rd., Pine Bluff AR.


Starting tomorrow (January 14th) Watson Chapel Junior High Cafeteria will start offering Hot Chocolate with breakfast on Tuesdays. This will be included with breakfast at no charge. If it goes well, we may extend for other days too.
