Out of an abundance of caution, WCHS students will be dismissed at 9:45 am today, August 29, 2024. All other campuses will have a regular school day. Buses will run. Parents who wish to pick up students can drive up to the concession stand at the football field and check out their students. Parents should not exit their cars-students will come to the vehicle. This day will have to be made up at a later date. We appreciate your cooperation and patience and continue to take the safety of staff and students seriously.

Watson Chapel School District is asking all families to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application. All families that turn in the application by Friday, August 30th - you will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Walmart Gift Card.
Arkansas notifies schools of students who are automatically listed as free because they received SNAP benefits and parents should have already received letters about their status. Those students are automatically entered into the drawing.
Applications can be filled out at https://secure.ezmealapp.com/ApplicationScreen.aspx or paper applications are available at the schools.
If you have any questions, please contact Paula Bailey (Food Service Director) at pbailey@wcmail.k12.ar.us or 870-515-4090

REMINDER:
Watson Chapel School District is asking all families to fill out free and reduced meal applications for their students. Students will still eat at no charge this school year, but we need the data from the meal applications to show our district still qualifies for students to eat at no charge.
Plus, everyone who completes and turns in an application by August 30th is eligible to win a $100 Walmart gift card from the Akansas Hunger Relief Alliance/No Kid Hungry.
If your student receives SNAP benefits, you do not need to fill out an application and you are automatically eligible for the drawing.
Applications may be completed at https://secure.ezmealapp.com/ApplicationScreen.aspx or you can pick up a paper copy at your student's school. Paper applications are to be returned to the school.

Dads, father figures, mentors, etc....

Watson Chapel High School will offer breakfast before the bell only this school year. Breakfast is available to all students at no charge from 7:30-7:55. There will be no Second Chance Breakfast.
Please encourage your students to arrive early enough for breakfast. Studies show that students who eat breakfast focus better, retain the information better and have less missed school days.

Watson Chapel School District is requesting all parents complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application for the 2024-2025 School Year.
This school year, all students will continue to eat at no charge. We are asking families to complete the application so we can have data to show our community still benefits from meals at no charge. Without the proper information, Watson Chapel may have to go back to charging for meals in future school years.
Applications are available in paper form or you can fill them out on-line. Only one application is needed per family, as long as all students and household residents are listed.
On line applications are available at: https://secure.ezmealapp.com/ApplicationScreen.aspx
If you have any questions, please contact Paula Bailey at pbailey@wcmail.k12.ar.us or 870-515-4090. We are also planning to have Paula Bailey available at school open houses to answer any questions and help parents as needed.

Please see the attached letter from the superintendent regarding the school board's vote to end the uniform policy.
